With 44 years of manufacturing experience at all levels of HR, Barry is uniquely positioned to understand and address the challenges faced by manufacturing leaders.
Barry’s extensive experience includes overseeing plant start-ups, giving him a deep understanding of the complexities and demands of the manufacturing sector. He has designed and implemented effective succession plans, mentoring processes, and career management programs. His initiatives have successfully developed internal candidates for key leadership and technical positions and identified roles that require external recruitment. Additionally, Barry has crafted comprehensive Corporate and Location Human Resources Policies that provide clear guidance to both management and employees, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Barry’s expertise spans both unionized and non-unionized environments. He has developed strategies to maintain a union-free status and fostered respectful relationships in unionized settings, successfully negotiating labor agreements. He remains active in the field by teaching leadership classes to school administrators and coaching school leaders. His work helps them achieve their goals and enhance team effectiveness.
Barry has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service. He has served as Chair of the Education Committee for the Darlington Economic Development Board and as Vice President of Education for a Chamber of Commerce in North Carolina. His volunteer work includes board positions with the Red Cross, Boys Club, various Chambers of Commerce, The Life Enrichment Center, and the United Way. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year for his contributions.
